The best game ever invented, period.....
Today at nordic practice we played the best game that I have ever played in my entire life. Originally called TED Ball, in honor of our fantastic nordic coach Ted "Big Fellah" Gardner. TED Ball is a combination, yoga, soccer, basketball, and rugby. The game is played on half of a soccer pitch, there are no real out of bounds, just don't stray to far away, dribbling behind the soccer goal is allowed. The game is played with a giant yoga ball. Kicking is allowed but the main method of moving the ball is by dribbling like in basketball. The only time that one doesn't dribble are the steps leading up to a shot, hands or feet, on net. As far a defense is concerned, anything goes, except tripping. This is where the rugby part comes in. Defensive players can use any part of their body to kick, swat, punch, head, or just block passes or shots. The defense can also tackle, level, or just flat out crush offensive runners. The offense can also use the ball as a big pillow to bump defenders out of the way! There is no double dribble rule, run, stop, run again, anything goes in this all out game. It is the most fun game I have ever played. Its a great workout, but you don't even notice because it is just so much fun to play. Teams can be of any size and there aren't positions, just run and tackle, enjoy!!!
